A Cheap as Chips website has a fairly standard layout,
but can be designed to look very individual too.
The all have a fairly standard layout, with branding
at the top, menu on the left and your contact details
at the bottom. The colours and images we use can reflect
your company branding, logos, products or even you.
The samples below show just how individual a Cheap
as Chips website can be.
|
Sample 1
Cibo Catering wanted their website
to appeal to people who were planning a function.
Their point of difference is quality and value
for money.
So in their branding we used
colours that instill a feeling of quality and
a combination of photos of their food as well
as a stock photo of a venue.
You can visit the Cibo Catering
website at www.cibocatering.co.nz
|
 |
Note:
The Cibo Catering website is a standard 4 page website.
Like their catering - good value for money.
|
Sample 2
Moontime Aotearoa wanted their
website to appeal to women, and in particular
young women, and they wanted it to be bright and
upbeat.
So we didn't use dowdy colours
in their branding - we used an eye-catching, lively
style that we think works well.
You can visit the Moontime Aotearoa
website at www.moontime.co.nz
|
 |
Note:
Moontime Aotearoa sell products online and uses a "shopping
cart" on their website so that people can buy several
products at once. This is not a standard service. This
means that it cannot be hosted by the budget services
we recommend on our "other
costs" page. If you have several products and
want to sell online, using a shopping cart, you
can host your website with us for $26.45 + gst per month.
This price includes the use of a shopping cart.
|
Sample 3
Rural Measurement Technology
wanted their website to appeal to farmers and
those living in the rural sector.
So in their branding we used
a combination of rural images (scenery & grass)
as well as photos of their products.
You can visit the RMTech website
at www.rmtech.co.nz
|
 |
Note:
RMTech also sell products online but, since they only
sell a few products and customers are unlikely to buy
more than one at once, they do not need to use a shopping
cart. So a budget hosting package is fine with this
type of website.
RMTech's website can accept payment
by credit cards by using Paymate Express. This service
is only ideal for single purchases, but is a good alternative
to using a mainstream bank. Customers click a link and
fill out an online form for their credit card details.
Then Paymate Express process the credit card payment
and credits your bank account with the money, less their
commission. For more information about Paymate Express

Sample 4
StormRider wanted their website
to show that their new, innovative windpower turbine
was aptly named - built to cope with strong, stormy
winds.
So in their branding we used
a dramatic stormy backdrop as well as photos and
models of their product.

website at www.stormrider.co.nz

 |
"We were having big problems getting
our website up. One call to Cheap As Chips and within
a few days our website was up and running. Very professional."
Jonathan Wangford, StormRider.
Note:
The StormRider website is a standard 4 page website.
|
Sample 5
Simon Burton wanted to promote
his Auckland piano tuning business on the internet.
Simon did all the hard yards,
wrote the text, sourced all the photos from cheap
photo libraries and got a great looking site for
a few hundred bucks. Not bad, eh?
You can visit his website at
www.aucklandpianotuner.co.nz
|
 |
Note:
The Auckland Piano Tuner website is a standard 3 page
website.
|
Sample 6
Jeanette Good wanted a cost
effective website for her new business based on
the West Coast of the South Island.
As a start up business she didn't
want to outlay a lot, but wanted a clean, classy
looking website where people could get a feel
for the Coast and its potential as a wedding venue.
You can visit her website at
www.westcoastweddings.co.nz
|
 |
Note:
The West Coast Weddings website is a standard 3 page
website.
|
Sample 7
The Auckland Lesbian Business
Association wanted a new, vibrant website in order
to promote their new, vibrant logo.
So we ran with the theme and
came up with a design that certainly makes you
perk up and pay attention.
You can visit the website at
www.alba.org.nz
|
 |
Note:
Because the website will be updated regularly, alba
opted for an 8 page CMS website. In the future they
will be implementing other in-built CMS features including
member only sections and currently take advantage of
the low hosting rate for non-profit organisations. Exactly
the smart decisions you would expect of a business association!
|
Sample 8
The Hawkes Bay Orchestral Society
wanted to promote their music tuition and orchestras
to potential students and members in the area.
As many of their new students
are children or young people, they wanted to visually
appeal to their target market. And as a non-profit
organisation they didn't have a lot of cash to
spare.
You can visit the website at
www.hbos.org.nz
|
 |
Note:
The Hawkes Bay Orchestral Society website is a standard
4 page website.
|
Sample 9
Ginny from Au Pair Extraordinaire
wanted some new branding for her new business
but wasn't getting very far with her graphic designers.
She also didn't want to pay an arm and a leg.
So we pointed her in the direction
of some inexpensive photo websites and some font
sites and we went from there.
The result is slick and clean.
And very affordable.
You can visit the website at
www.aupairextraordinaire.co.nz
|
 |
Note:
The Au Pair Extraordinaire is a CMS website so that
Ginny can update it herself in future. It has an added
feature of 2 different templates enabling the image
up top to change depending on the focus of the page
- the Family section has a family image at the top and
the Au Pair section has an Au Pair.
